Races on 8/13
Tiger Tri – Zach Copeland (photo at left) ran this sprint tri and earned a new PR by 6 minutes with a finish time of 1:09:39. He loved making it to the podium: “First time ever in the 3 years of doing Triathlon have I been on the podium for my age group. I place 3rd in my age group from 25-29. I have it all to thank from the coaches and everyone inside Endurance Nation. Work Works!!”
Gator Bait – Joe Hallatschek (photo at right) completed his first sprint tri with a time of 1:16:30. Of his race, Joe reported “The short course training plan is fantastic! I am once again placing in the top 10% overall! I placed 18th out of 255 and 2nd in my age group at this race. This season, triathlons are fun again now that I am back in the Hunt!”
Races on 8/14
Steelhead 70.3® – Ed Shimon biked and ran in this half Ironman® and finished in 4:20. A new PR for a tri without a swim… guess that makes it an unexpected dualthon! He said “The swim was cancelled due to 5-7 foot waves and rip currents on Lake Michigan, but I cranked out massive PR’s in the bike and run portions. 23.2 mph ave in the bike and 8:36 per mile in the run. The bike was a 7 minute PR and the run was a 24 min PR!!! I am amazed at how much I have improved with only one year of EN training! RnP are my heroes!”
