Coach Patrick here, checking in with a fresh update from the road—literally. With the race season inching closer and many of you starting to shift from OutSeason work to outdoor sessions, there’s a lot to cover: new gear, early outdoor rides, and the essential reminder about dialing in your race-day nutrition before it’s too late.
The Store is Open: New Kits, Fresh Looks, Better Fit
After wading through approvals and product selections, I’m excited to announce that the new team store is ready to launch. It features not only updates to our classic gear but introduces two brand-new cycling kits. These will also be available as running tops and long-sleeve options for those looking to represent across disciplines.
The store is inclusive—men’s and women’s specific bibs and tops are available, with a fit and feel that meet our performance standards. If you’re part of the team, your travel and triathlon gear remains in the store as well, so there’s something for every training and racing need.
The store link will drop later this week. We’ll post it inside the team site, send it via email, and blast it on social. Once live, it will be open for two weeks. Make sure to plan ahead so you can grab what you want before the order window closes.
First Outdoor Ride of the Year: A Personal Milestone
I finally got out for my first outdoor ride of the season—and yes, it felt amazing. I shared it with the team online and loved seeing the support and excitement in response. The transition from indoor to outdoor always comes with some sketchy moments (gravel is a little less friendly when you’re not expecting it), but the sheer joy of being outside again reminded me why we do this.
It’s likely the earliest I’ve made it outside in quite some time, and I hope it sets the tone for the rest of the season. It’s also been great to see more of your stories and photos rolling in. This kind of momentum is what makes our community thrive.
Race Nutrition: Your Spring Wake-Up Call
We’ve spent the past couple of weeks talking about race execution and race nutrition for a reason. Early season races are here, and now is the time to stop winging it with your fueling strategy.
It’s tempting to ignore nutrition when your training sessions go smoothly. You feel strong. Your stomach is calm. Why worry? Because race day is an entirely different animal.
The calories you need to survive a training session are nowhere near enough to succeed in a long, demanding event. You can’t afford to realize at mile 60 on the bike that you’re running low or feeling off. The time to figure out your needs, your stomach, and your plan is now.
Ask yourself:
- What worked and didn’t work last season?
- Where did your nutrition fail?
- What lessons have you learned that still apply?
Revisit those moments and use them. The athletes who succeed aren’t necessarily the ones who avoid failure—they’re the ones who learn from it and make smarter decisions because of it.
If you’re not sure where to start, I’ve got resources coming soon to help you navigate this with more clarity. Think of it like a curated race prep library: searchable, simple, and built for your success.
Building Your Racing OS
At Endurance Nation, we talk a lot about building your “Racing Operating System”—the baked-in plans, strategies, and decision trees that guide your race-day execution.
- If Plan A doesn’t work, you’ve already got a Plan B.
- If the weather changes, you know how to adjust.
- If nutrition starts going sideways, you know how to bring it back.
This kind of preparation doesn’t just give you better results—it gives you confidence and calm. And when things go wrong (because they always do), you’ll respond instead of react.
That’s what we’re working on behind the scenes: content, coaching, and conversations designed to reinforce this mindset and give you the tools to execute on race day like the experienced athlete you are becoming.
Quick Heads Up: Belgium Camp
I’ll be away April 3–14 for our Belgium Cycling Camp. I’ll still be checking in and answering questions when I can, but my availability will be more limited during that time.
In the meantime, keep building, keep refining, and keep pushing forward. Whether you’re grabbing a new kit, hitting the road for the first time this year, or getting serious about dialing in your nutrition, every step you take now sets the tone for race day.
Let’s make it count.
