Let’s start with the obvious: last week’s video was a bit of a trainwreck. I recorded it mid-drive, probably making half of you seasick and the other half question my decision-making. That one’s on me. This week, we’re back on solid ground—literally and figuratively—with a message that really hits home for a lot of athletes:
So… you finally started training.
And that’s fantastic. Because starting is the hard part. Starting means you’ve made the decision to move forward, and that’s where transformation begins.
But let’s be real—there’s always a percentage of the team that gets off to a later start. Life happens. The holidays happened. That surprise project at work happened. Whatever it was, it delayed your training start. And now that you’re finally lacing up your shoes or clipping into your bike, you’re feeling two things: a little guilt and a lot of fatigue.
Catching Up Without Falling Apart
In a parallel universe, I’d have launched a company that only helps athletes for the final three weeks before their race. Quick fix, big price tag, minimal commitment. But that’s not how Endurance Nation works.
We’re in this with you for the long haul. We help athletes train for months, even years, to prepare for the race of their lives. So, last week’s content was focused on a bit of “damage control” for those of you who are just now getting started. If that’s you, welcome. It’s never too late to start moving.
On the flip side, if you have been training and you’re already feeling that early-season fatigue, we’re addressing that, too. In fact, that’s the very next video I’ll be recording: what to do when fatigue creeps in before your fitness really sets in.
The truth is, about 30% of the team just got started. The other 70%? You’ve been grinding for a while, and now you’re starting to feel it—niggles, form breakdown, a little mental wear-and-tear. Both scenarios are valid. Both require smart adjustments.
The Latest from Team EN
In the midst of all this, a few exciting things are happening:
1. The Endurance Nation Kit Store is LIVE
After a long wait, our team gear is available for early access. If you’re a yearly member, you’ll be hearing from me directly about how to claim your jersey. The store will stay open for two weeks, and the gear will be shared across Strava, our newsletter, and IG.
2. Travel Season Kicks Off
I’m headed to Belgium this week to launch one of our bucket list cycling camps. We’ve transformed our race camps into travel experiences over the years—Spain, Italy, the Canary Islands, and more. This year we’re back at it, and I’ll be sharing updates from the road. Follow along if you want a behind-the-scenes look at what these camps are all about.
3. The 2025 Get Faster Plans Are Ready
The advanced version is finished, and I’m putting the final touches on the beginner and intermediate tracks. This plan is designed for athletes getting a later start—high intensity, targeted intervals, and built-in rest. Yes, I heard your feedback loud and clear: more recovery. That’s in there now.
Looking Ahead
We’re heading into a critical stretch of the season. Whether you’re just ramping up or already adapting to fatigue, the plan isn’t to go harder—it’s to go smarter. Remember, the goal isn’t to be the fittest athlete today. It’s to be your strongest, most resilient self when it counts—on race day.
If you haven’t yet, check out our free guides on the website. For members, I’ll be holding office hours Monday night. I’ll be on the road after that, but you can still catch updates on Instagram and the Endurance Nation page.
Also: monthly check-ins are live. Don’t skip this. Let me know how you’re doing so I can give you feedback, tweak your training, or simply help you adjust course if needed.
That’s it for now. Take care of yourself out there, stay safe, and keep your eyes on April—it’s closer than you think.
Until next time,
Coach Patrick
